The response curve
Example response in linear gain: Min is silence, Max is 0 dB, and Taper and Focus are both −1. The solid curve is normal input; the dashed curve applies Reverse before the same response function. Min/Max set gain endpoints, while Taper/Focus shape the cubic response. Reverse swaps the heel/toe behaviour; heel is not always the quiet end.

A note on MIDI Assign
MIDI Assign requires Volume Pedal to receive MIDI directly from the host. Some DAWs need a MIDI-controlled effect format or explicit MIDI routing for this to work. If direct MIDI routing is inconvenient, automate the Position parameter instead.
