Hex Inception
Get all hex guitar audio channels into your multichannel audio plug-ins — no matter what DAW you have.
The problem: Conventional DAWs may stop at mono or stereo inputs relegating your multichannel audio input plug-ins inaccessible.
Hex Inception’s canonical logical order is 1: DI / Auxiliary 1, 2: DI / Auxiliary 2, then 3–8: String 1–6. These slots feed a hosted processor inside Hex, whose selected mono/stereo audio outputs return to the DAW. This is logical order, not a universal physical-device or high-to-low string map. Direct mode uses the selected Core Audio device; Reamp / Resynth uses the Hex Inception 8ch virtual device with its own track-to-virtual audio device routing.

What it is
Hex Inception is a macOS plug-in built to solve one very specific problem: getting multichannel hexaphonic guitar audio into software your DAW cannot normally feed with six or more input channels.
Load it on a track, choose your multichannel audio device, and host your multi-channel audio input plug-in directly inside the plug-in. Hex Inception handles the connection between your hardware, the host DAW and the hosted plug-in, providing up to eight discrete audio channels where conventional DAW routing may otherwise stop at mono or stereo.
For MIDI Guitar 3 Hex users, that means the six individual string signals — plus the additional D.I. channels available from compatible hardware — can be delivered straight to MIDI Guitar 3 Hex inside any DAW. You keep working in your preferred DAW while retaining the multichannel input that hex processing requires.
Flexible MIDI output routing allows sending MIDI from generator plug-ins (like MG3, GK2MIDI) when some DAWs won't allow it.
Hex Inception isn't just another guitar processor; It's the missing connection between hexaphonic hardware, multichannel plug-ins and DAWs whose native input architecture was never designed for them.

Two workflows
- Direct mode — connect directly to a compatible multichannel audio interface for real-time playing and processing
- Reamp/Resynth mode — route previously recorded multichannel material back through a hosted processor via the included 8-channel virtual audio device
- Explicit, visible routing: assign physical hardware channels to the logical inputs the hosted plug-in expects
- Buffer size, input status, channel activity and routing state readable from the plug-in interface
- Up to eight discrete audio channels
