Audio sustain plug-in · in development
Hold Pedal
Hold a sound. Keep playing.
The problem: You want a note or chord to stay beneath your playing, without reaching for a hardware sustain pedal.

Hold workflow
Trigger Hold to capture a moment of your input and sustain it beneath your live playing. Effect and Dry levels balance the two layers; Attack and Release shape the held layer's fade in and fade out. This is a workflow illustration, not a waveform or timing measurement.
Is this you?
- 01You want to hold a chord and play a melody over it.
- 02You want a sustained layer from the sound already in your plug-in chain.
- 03You want to trigger Hold with a MIDI footswitch while keeping your hands on the instrument.
- 04You want to shape how a held sound fades in and out, and blend it with your live playing.
What it is
Hold Pedal is an audio sustain plug-in in development: capture a moment of your sound, hold it as a sustained layer, and keep playing over it. The aim is a simple, playable pedal for notes, chords and textures inside your DAW or plug-in host.
Separate Effect and Dry levels set the balance between the held layer and your live input. Momentary and Latch modes offer two ways to control Hold, while Attack and Release shape the transition into and out of the sustained sound.
The third of the original three effects — alongside Volume Pedal and Prism Delay — Hold Pedal is planned for macOS, Windows and iOS/iPadOS. It is still being refined; the image shows the current desktop development build.
In the current development build
- Audio capture and sustain designed for notes and chords
- Keep playing live over the held sound
- Separate Effect Level and Dry Level controls
- Momentary and Latch Hold modes
- Adjustable Attack and Release
- Direct MIDI Hold control with selectable CC and channel
- Host automation
Using a MIDI footswitch
Direct MIDI controls Hold; the plug-in needs MIDI routed to it by your host. The development build lets you select a CC and listen on one channel or all channels. Host automation offers another way to control Hold and its parameters.

Hex Inception
Get all hex guitar audio channels into your multichannel audio plug-ins — no matter what DAW you have.
Conventional DAWs may stop at mono or stereo inputs relegating your multichannel audio input plug-ins inaccessible.
Prism Delay
Eight delay lines. One instrument. Sonic nirvana.
Conventional delays don't give you the Holdsworth sound as found in the Yamaha UD-Stomp and Magicstomp.
MIDI Matrix Monitor
See your MIDI split into channels.
A single scrolling event list can be hard to follow when multiple MIDI channels are active at once.
