Who you’d be working with
Why this guy?
I’ve been a student of music for as long as I can remember and a teacher for almost as long. Any problem you encounter or question you ask yourself, I’ve almost certainly already faced it.
Over the years I’ve developed an approach to guitar that combines musicianship, improvisation and technology rather than treating them as separate subjects. I’m equally happy exploring an improvisational concept, untangling harmony across the fretboard, configuring a MIDI guitar system, or getting deep into a sophisticated digital rig.
My own musical interests include the approaches of Allan Holdsworth, Scott Henderson, John McLaughlin, Frank Gambale, Alex Machacek and Tim Miller — particularly the relationship between harmony, fretboard organisation and improvisational freedom.
You don’t need to play at an advanced level. Lessons are adapted to where you are now and where you want to go.
Pricing
Simple, and cheaper in bulk
All sessions are 60 minutes, one-to-one, online, at a time that suits you.
One-to-one, online, at your convenience. Tuition or rig consultation.

Buy 5-session packFor longer-term work on technique, vocabulary or a rig you’re rebuilding from scratch.
Buy 10-session packPayment, cancellations and rescheduling
Bookings and applicable payments are handled through Square.
Fixed-price coaching and consultation sessions booked online require payment in full at the time of booking.
Cancellations or rescheduling are permitted up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are non-refundable and subject to the full session fee.
Logistics
How online sessions work
Sessions run live online, primarily on Zoom, with screen sharing when needed. Zoom’s high-quality audio options are particularly well suited to guitar and music tuition. Alternative platforms can be arranged where appropriate.
I recommend a closed audio system: an audio interface with a Hi-Z input for your guitar, and headphones for monitoring.
